Job Description
Be part of the team that ensures Radford University and its constituents are represented by the best quality printed materials on time!
•Teamwork: Become a fully integrated team member by both taking instructions and taking initiative to learn on the job. Actively contribute towards maintaining a collaborative and supportive workplace. Occasionally assist at the campus Post Office.
•Bindery/finishing: Efficiently use precision equipment and hand tools to consistently and produce/finish a wide range of custom printed products. Inspect final products for quality.
•Material Handling: Move, organize, and load supplies, from large stacks to single pieces of delicate media. Deliver completed print jobs by vehicle.
•Customer Service: Accept payments. Ensure a positive customer experience.
Required Qualifications
•Experience in a hands-on production environment (A deadline-driven environment where repeatable results depend on a combination of teamwork, physical labor, mechanical aptitude, powered equipment and hand-tools, and critical thinking.) Examples include: manufacturing/fabrication, food service, construction, backstage/event tech crew, equipment maintenance, field service, logistics/operations for industrial/agricultural/warehouse, and print/bindery.
•Valid Driver's License
•Ability to lift 25-50 pounds on a regular basis.
•Demonstrated ability to quickly learn (and build on) new skills and processes.
•Experience communicating clearly and positively with customers and/or teammates.
•Demonstrated ability to be proactive to problem-solve independently and with a team.
•Demonstrated ability to inspect for quality control.
•Comfortable/proficient using basic math, including measurements, decimals and fractions.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience operating production-level printing and/or finishing (bindery) equipment.
•Experience with Fiery Command Workstation.
•Experience in retail / reception / cash-handling.
