Job Description
Overall management of student placement (up to 504 rotations per year) during the clinical/externship phases of the Physician Assistant program. Management of contracts between Radford University and clinical sites. Partners with the Director of Clinical Education to manage the clinical year student interactions and ensuring students complete all program requirements. Develops and maintains databases related to preceptors, clinical/externship sites, hospital affiliations, continuing education and students. Assists in preparing for conferences and manages other program specific events.
Assures maintenance of a well-organized, efficient, supportive and scholarly environment. Ensures effective and timely communications with appropriate others. Initiates and maintains contacts and follow up with clinical/externship sites and preceptors regarding placement of students in rotations. Manages all paperwork related to clinical/externship sites, preceptors, hospital affiliations and students. Represents program at appropriate meetings with clinical/externship sites.
Develops, maintains and updates databases related to clinical/externship sites, preceptors, hospital affiliations, and students. Compiles and manages data; participates in development, preparation and documentation of accreditation, certification and federal reimbursement projects. Schedule students for appropriate clinical/externship experiences.
Utilizes appropriate computer technology and office equipment standard software, frames, format and business procedures. Assists with program specific roles and responsibilities as assigned by the chair, director or assistant director. Promotes the College's Culture of Excellence and quality service through teamwork, respectful communication, maintenance of a professional environment, partnerships with those we serve, and anticipation of students' and customers' needs.
Required Qualifications
Proficient with current office software such as Microsoft Office; excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, oral and written communication skills. Ability to develop, maintain and update databases using a variety of software applications. Experience providing programmatic support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Administrative and health care experience preferred. Experience in higher education is a plus.
