Job Summary

Performs carpentry maintenance and construction tasks addressing building requirements for a university campus.

Required Qualifications

Reporting to the Carpenter Foreman, the carpenter will demonstrate experience in performing carpentry type work, such as construction of cabinets and furniture. Experience is needed in operation and maintenance of carpentry related hand and power tools. This position demands the ability to interpret work orders, knowledge of blueprints, drawings and charts, and to perform basic mathematical calculations. The carpenter will also need to possess troubleshooting and resolution skills as they relate to project goals and objectives. There will be independent and group project work that requires the ability to interact in a positive manner with the campus community and fellow employee in a diverse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in training others.
Experience in record creation and maintenance.
Supervisory experience. Higher Education experience.
