Job Summary

Coordinates law enforcement communications for police officers, answers emergency calls for assistance, monitors building alarms, dispatches police & coordinates fire and EMS. Serves as the point of contact for visitors to the police department and issues temporary parking permits to campus visitors.

Required Qualifications

Excellent verbal/written communications skills with ability to relate well with a variety of people in difficult/stressful situations. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and make sound independent decisions. Ability to use computers, police radios, and other associated office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

DCJS (Dept of Criminal Justice Services) dispatcher certified, as well as VCIN (Virginia Criminal Investigation Network) Operator Certified and NCIC (National Crime Information Center) Certified.
