Job Summary

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist in the daily health care of student- athletes and athletic training room operation under the direction of the Assistant AD for Sports Medicine and Medical Director; will record and maintain appropriate medical records; will provide daily practice/event coverage and travel with assigned sport(s), currently Women’s Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis; will supervise and evaluate athletic training students in the clinical setting; will maintain inventory and supplies; will screen and refer injured/ill student-athletes to team physicians; will always represent Radford University and the Sports Medicine Department with the utmost professionalism.

Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or related field; National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification(NATA BOC Certified); Virginia Athletic Training Licensure or eligible; Minimum 2 years experience as the primary ATC for multiple sports in a collegiate setting; Basic Life Support or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

Preferred Qualifications

Division I Athletic Training experience preferred; Experience with electronic medical records; Experience with managing supplies, inventory and budget. Current Virginia Athletic Training License.
