Job Description
Performs skilled diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems on campus. Includes, but is not limited to, closed-loop systems, chillers, commercial refrigeration equipment, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, and all related equipment.
Position is designated as essential personnel.
Required Qualifications
Reporting to the HVAC Foreman, the HVAC Technician will demonstrate working knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment and experience as an HVAC Technician. Skill in the operation of tools and equipment associated with HVAC maintenance, and experience with installation, repair, and modification of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning, and their controls. Ability to perform skilled diagnosis on campus systems, including closed-loop systems, chillers, commercial refrigeration equipment, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, and related equipment. Valid driver's license and E.P.A. certification for handling CFC refrigerants. Will serve on an on-call rotation and be expected to be available for emergency call-in and overtime work. Must have a valid driver's license, E.P.A. certification for handling CFC refrigerants.
DPOR licensure required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to interpret and follow mechanical drawings. Significant experience with a diverse university campus setting. Working knowledge of building HVAC controls.
