Job Description

Reporting to the Real Property and Space Manager, the Engineering GIS Technician is primarily responsible for the organization, maintenance, and archiving of all relevant Facilities Management GIS, space and other campus infrastructure information and documents, including both electronic and hard copies, and providing related technical support for Facilities Management staff. The Engineering GIS Technician is also responsible for maintaining consistent communication with the supervisor and following through with directions in establishing project priorities and ensuring a high degree of accuracy on assignments. This responsibility includes regularly reporting the status of archived information and related support tasks, including biennial audits of space, meeting in the field with representatives, and interacting with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Experience applying standard technician skills and proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro, other related GIS packages, and other computerized design programs such as AutoCAD. Ability to organize and maintain building, site, and utility files. Familiar with both geospatial and architectural/engineering standards as they relate to materials, legends, details, and format. Knowledge of site systems, including water, sanitary, stormwater, and electrical. Knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Ability to support and prepare other digital documents using Microsoft Suite and Adobe Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education/training in architecture/engineering technician tasks and skills. Experience with other related digital tools. Experience working in a higher education setting. Experience in computer aided drafting and cartography.
