The Educator and Co-coordinator works collaboratively with all nursing faculty, administration, and students to develop and implement clinical simulation as a method of learning for nursing students to enhance and support their educational needs. This is a 12-month appointment.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency with computer skills and use of instructional technology strategies. Knowledge of education principles and teaching-learning methods. Excellent public relations abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. In-depth clinical knowledge of outcome-based patient care. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience (5 years preferred). Minimum BSN required.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia required. Current CPR certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical experience in medical/surgical, critical care, obstetrics, and/or pediatrics. Teaching experience and use of classroom technologies. Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications relevant to simulator functions.
MSN preferred.
If possesses BSN only,
• national certification preferred.
• or enrolled in a graduate nursing program or CNE (Certified Nurse Educator) certified.
