Job Description
The overall objective is to support the local agencies' efforts in training resource, adoptive, foster families in the Western region of the Virginia Department of Social Services.
Restricted position (grant funded) – continuation of position subject to the continued availability of funds.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Proven experience in developing and delivering engaging trainings and presentations.
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Comprehensive understanding of Social Services operations statewide and within the Western Region.
Experience providing both pre-service and in-service training, including designing and authoring training modules.
Familiarity with nationally recognized pre-service training curricula, preferably the National Training and Development Curriculum (NTDC).
An advanced degree; MSW preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior employment with the Virginia Department of Social Services as a Resource Family Worker, Foster Care Worker, Adoptions Worker, or CPS Worker.
Experience developing and facilitating training for social workers and foster/adoptive parents.
Minimum of two years of post-master’s social work experience.
