Job Description

The Business Technology Analyst, Financial Aid, administers and optimizes Banner Financial Aid and related systems to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient operations. The role serves as the technical and functional lead for packaging, disbursement, and regulatory updates, while also supporting automation, data integrity, and reporting. The role will lead efforts to improve system integration with other functional areas. Core responsibilities include implementing annual Department of Education updates, monitoring compliance with federal and state regulations, and developing tools that improve efficiency and decision-making. Working collaboratively with Financial Aid staff, IT, Enrollment Management partners, and external vendors, the Analyst acts as a bridge between technical and functional teams, ensuring smooth system operations and innovative solutions that enhance both staff effectiveness and the student experience.

Up to 100% remote with some required in-person meetings, trainings, etc.

Required Qualifications

•Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in one of these fields with equivalent professional experience.
•3–5 years of experience with Ellucian Banner Financial Aid or comparable system.
•Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations (FAFSA, COD, NSLDS, SCHEV).
•Experience with SQL and reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Argos, Ellucian Insights).
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

•5+ years of progressive experience in Financial Aid systems administration.
•Experience with financial aid process automation and regulatory testing.
•Knowledge of Student Information Systems integration with Financial Aid.
•Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects.
