Job Description
The Associate Director for Student Standards and Conduct assist in the coordination of the university’s student conduct system and initiatives related to the implementation of the Standards of Student Conduct for all students. This position supports student learning and development by managing the conduct process and providing guidance to students and campus partners. The Associate Director serves as a point of contact for conduct related inquiries and collaborated closely with Residential Life, Academic Affairs, Campus safety partners, and Student Affairs leadership to uphold community standards and foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
Required Qualifications
An advanced degree in student personnel, higher education or a related field or training and work experience at a level which equates to an advanced degree in those fields, prior professional experience in relevant areas within Student Affairs, and experience with adjudicating student conduct are required. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of strong interpersonal, analytic, organizational and communication skills; an aptitude for student conduct; and the ability to advise college students, work with a diverse population of staff and students, foster a collaborative work environment, and promote high ethical standards among students. In-depth knowledge and application of higher education law, university codes of conduct; computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience in adjudicating conduct cases and evidence of progressive responsibility within student conduct administration is strongly preferred, along with experience in student housing and residential life. Experience with academic integrity issues, involvement with conduct boards, including student leadership opportunities, knowledge of best practices in student conduct administration, and experience with conflict resolution are also preferred.
