Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Registrar, the Assistant Registrar - Compliance serves a critical compliance and technical function within the Office of the Registrar. Acting as the University's official liaison responsible for federal student enrollment and graduation data reporting submissions to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). The Assistant Registrar - Compliance is responsible for ensuring university compliance with regulatory enrollment reporting requirements. This includes ensuring the accurate and timely transfer of data, timely error resolution, identifying and resolving data issues, maintaining process documentation, and training staff. The Assistant Registrar - Compliance performs regular processing and monitoring of Ellucian Banner processes to ensure timely and accurate enrollment file submissions. This position leads department internal and external audit preparation. Serves as point of contact with university reporting units and oversees department business intelligence report development. Additionally, this position manages the university FERPA training module and assignment of training refresher cycles. The Assistant Registrar - Compliance plays a critical role in compliance, reporting accuracy, data quality, and error resolution.

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree, or bachelors degree with equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience working with student records in a higher education setting. Demonstrated ability to manage and safeguard sensitive student data in compliance with FERPA and institutional privacy standards. Proven analytical and technical skills, including hands-on experience with database management, data reconciliation, and business process evaluation. Skilled in interpreting and aligning data requirements across departments and systems. Ability to manage recurring data submission deadlines, compliance reporting, and audit cycles with precision and accountability. Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving SIS data integrity issues to support accurate and compliant reporting. Experience utilizing reporting or business intelligence systems such as Cognos. Strong organizational skills with the ability to create and maintain process documentation. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders and contribute meaningfully to cross-functional teams. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated aptitude for quickly mastering new technologies and adapting to changing reporting and compliance requirements in the higher education sector.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) enrollment reporting, including submission workflows and resolution of transmission errors. Experience with NSC MyHub. Prior experience with Ellucian Banner. Knowledge of Banner Population Selection functionality or similar system and tool, including the creation, testing, and execution of population selection rules for operational and reporting purposes. Technical proficiency in SQL, or the ability to learn.
