Job Description
The Administrative Assistant for the Davis College of Business and Economics SPARK (Success.Planning.Advising.Resources.Knowledge) Center is a dynamic, welcoming, and supportive professional who plays a key role in fostering a positive and efficient environment for students, faculty, and staff. This individual will be the first point of contact for students seeking academic guidance, providing a warm and encouraging presence while helping to manage day-to-day operations of our centers. This role requires a person who thrives in a fast-paced, student-centered environment and is committed to helping students navigate their academic journey with confidence and clarity.
• Serve as a professional and responsive resource person for information related to DCOBE curriculum, advising and programs
• Provide administrative support to the SPARK Center, AI Sandbox ,Center for Applied Analytics, Davis Fellows, Financial Success Center and the Venture Lab,
• Exceptional organizational skills providing flexibility and independent decision making in a fast-paced diverse environment with an extraordinary attention to detail, confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness
• Assist with planning and coordinating events for SPARK Center and other DCOBE centers
Required Qualifications
Previous experience providing administrative support; strong commitment to student/customer support; working knowledge of various software commonly used in an office environment such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook; detail-oriented and organized, experience interpreting policies and procedures; demonstrated organizational and time management skills; experience working with diverse individuals and/or groups; ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects and tasks independently; demonstrated commitment to student success and a collaborative approach to problem-solving; ability to work with confidential information
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Slate, eVA, Banner, COGNOS, Emburse, Advising Software (e.g. DegreeWorks, etc) and PageUp. Experience in higher education environment preferred
